A regular cast member during series six and seven, Alan Parry was Cassandra's father and subsequently, Rodney's father-in-law. He was the owner of a successful printing firm which employed Rodney for a time from 1989 to 1991, and later became a friend of Del. When Del first meets Cassandra he claims to remember her father and jokes that Alan is a "little fella, one blue eye, one brown eye - talks with a squint, walks with a stutter". Of course, this doesnt sound like Alan at all so it is likely that Del was only joking.
Despite being a successful businessman by the time he met Del, Alan was still a Cockney wideboy at heart, often ending up drunk or getting sick after eating too many jellied eels whilst under Del's influence, much to the chagrin of his more overtly middle-class wife, Pam.
